Titan Quest marked one of my initial endeavors. This aged Action RPG offered the freedom to craft a variety of characters, all stored locally. Given my frequent system reformatting, the chore of regularly safeguarding my characters grew wearisome. In response, I conceived a compact utility that seamlessly linked with an FTP server, facilitating character preservation within a designated directory. This innovation greatly expedited the process of character backup and retrieval, meeting my needs whenever the occasion arose.
Admittedly, the practice of directly interfacing an FTP server from a client-side application raises noteworthy security concerns. However, given that this application catered exclusively to my personal use, the calculated risk was deemed acceptable.
